Dolly Parton escaped the struggles of her life early on by using her creative and imaginative imagination. Before learning how to read and write Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own music. In the year she turned eight, she bought the first electric guitar she owned and began singing on an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. In the same year, she recorded her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. While still in highschool, she made her name locally but dreamed about an even bigger stage. The day she was able to graduate from high school, it was 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time, was in search for a female singer on his show. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing with RCA Records. The show ended in 1974 as her solo songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were out-charting their collaborations. Parton recorded I Will Always love You for Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. The song reached the top of the charts at. For the first time, in 1974.
