In the year 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it was the top-streamed track in just 6 months. The song was a mix of reggaeton and pop that attracted attention to Latin music but as well reggaeton. In 2015 there were two predominantly Spanish-speaking songs in Billboard's Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. At the peak of Despacito's popularity in 2017, however, 19 mostly Spanish tracks made the Top 100 In 2020, there were 41 such songs. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 as a bilingual rendition. Soon, other artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars including Drake as well as Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma with Medellin 2019. The gradual mainstreaming of reggaeton became an issue for some artists in 2020. Rauw alejandro and a younger generation determined to maintain the style. Rauw Alejandro incorporated electronic dance forms as well as other styles into his music.
